Bruno Suys

Double bass

Bruno studied at his hometown Ghent (Belgium) double bass with Frank Coppieters and chambermusic, and joined masterclasses with Prof. Evgeniy Kolosov from Moscow.

He was a member of the European Community Youth Orchestra and a laureate of international music competitions in Brussels, Parma and Geneva, where he also became the Swiss Price for contemporary music.

Since 1991 Bruno is principal double bass player of  the Frankfurter Opern- und Museumsorchester. Besides chambermusic (p. e. Ensemble Modernut3–recordsDuobasso), he’s also playing the musical saw and since 2009 he’s teaching the double bass at the Dr. Hoch’s Konservatorium in Frankfurt am Main.
